Olga formed in 2012. It started small, but they soon had their first show (at the Icelandic embassy in Brussels), then a debut in the Netherlands, and then a first tour of Iceland in summer of 2013. Since then, Olga has recorded six albums, toured Europe and the United States, and performed in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Harpa in Reykjavík, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., as well as recently in the Outback in Alice Springs, Australia.

FRAGMENTS – echoes of a father

In FRAGMENTS – echoes of a father, Olga is joined by performer Ásta Sigríður Arnardóttir, reading texts by poet Maureen Ghazal (originally in Dutch, translated to Icelandic for this performance), to take a journey through a man’s life – from youthful dreams to old age, marked by war, exile, and the longing for home.
Olga combines polyphonic singing with the spoken word, connecting memories with the present. Ukrainian, Palestinian, Russian, Hebrew, Icelandic, and Hawaiian songs are interspersed with classical works, gospel, and pop. Each song carries a fragment of a larger story. Maureen Ghazal’s poetry brings an empathetic layer to the story – a story of displacement, uprooting, and the search for connection in a world torn apart.
Athugið að hægt er að kaupa hátíðarpassa á aðeins 15.900 kr. sem gildir á alla tónleika á Sönghátíð í Hafnarborg 13.6.-28.6.2026.
